ABOUT BROOKE BOOTHE

It all started in high school during the '80s preppy revolution. My entrepreneurial side naturally emerged and soon I found myself selling handmade grosgrain ribbon bows to local gift shops. Growing up, I was heavily influenced by my mother and grandmother, both gifted seamstresses. I remember summering on Nantucket as a child, and looking forward to the annual rite of spring — making new curtains for our Nantucket home! Soon I followed my design interests and earned a degree from the University of Mississippi with further schooling from The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.

After a few years in retail management, I was off to Austin, TX, hoping to continue my education. However, as it always seems to happen in life, I took a little detour and found myself in the antique world. It fascinated me. Somehow, I thought, I had to find a way to combine my design expertise and my knowledge of antiques with my extensive retail background. So in 1994, I opened my first design business, originally focusing on my seamstress skills, making slipcovers, draperies and bedding. To my delight, my designs were well-received and incorporated into many showhouses of premier Austin area home builders.

Yet as a native of Westchester County, New York and life-long summer resident of Nantucket, I yearned to be close to my roots again. So in 2004, I moved back east and continue to summer on Nantucket every year!

With great friends and family to support me, I have been fortunate to build my business into a full-service interior design house. While my design career flourished, my mother has been running her own monogramming business in New York for the past 18 years. She encouraged me to jump in with both feet as well. So in 2006, monogramming services were introduced, to not only complement my design offerings, but also to open a window to many fine personalized items. Now, my preppy side is fulfilled as well. I hope you enjoy my designs as much as I look forward to discovering them with you.
